About the Photographer

Ciao my name is Frank
Simonetti. I was trained as a photographer by my father. I then attended
the Art Institute of Boston after high school. All my life I have been a
photographer of
Other than my grandparents came from Italy in the early 1900s, I had not thought much about Italy. That was until 2002 when I went to Rome for a few days. I was absolutely mesmerized by the colors, shapes and natural light illuminating the city and the still standing very old buildings and monuments. During that brief visit I took as many pictures as possible with a little consumer digital camera and adored every one of them.
During the summer of 2008 I spent five weeks in Italy. I took trains from Venice to Cinque Terra, motorcycled through Tuscany and train again to South Italy. My intent was to photograph everything I felt represented Italy.
